Green light for Green Volt
Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy have received an offshore concession for their floating offshore wind project, Green Volt, in Scotland, which is Europe's first commercial-scale floating offshore wind project.
Consequently, the project has received the necessary permits from Scottish authorities. With a capacity of up to 560 MW, Green Volt is comparable in scale to Utsira Nord. The timeline for Green Volt is ahead of Utsira Nord, with expectations to deliver the first electricity from Green Volt in 2029.
Green Volt and Cenos are one of five projects being presented at the North Sea Wind Conference in Kristiansand in June 2024.
